Wizard101 Azoth Farming Guide

Overview

Azoth is a treasure card introduced in Wizard101's Summer 2022 update that serves as the central resource for Guilds and Raids. As a treasure card, it's easily tradeable between characters, making it versatile for multiple uses including guild upgrades, crafting recipes, raid entries, and even combat.

What Makes Azoth Important:

  • Primary currency for guild progression
  • Required for raid access
  • Used in high-level crafting
  • Tradeable between characters
  • Can be used as a Shadow school spell (1 pip)
This guide focuses on the most efficient farming methods to maximize your Azoth collection!

Primary Farming Methods

1. Skeleton Key Bosses (Best Overall Method)

With the Skeleton Key rework, 10 bosses now drop 3–4 Azoth per player per run. These bosses are level-scaled to the lowest level player, so ensure your team has similar level players to receive Azoth drops.

Top Recommended Bosses

  • Drowned Dan (Tiers 1–4) — Science Center, Celestia
  • King Borr (Tiers 1–4) — Savarstaad Pass, Grizzleheim
  • Baron von Bracken (Tiers 1, 3–4) — Knight's Court, Marleybone
  • Krampus (Tiers 1–3) — The Nightmare (seasonal availability may vary)
  • General Lightbane (Tiers 2–3)
  • Ixcax CursedWing (Tier 4)
  • High Loremagus (Tier 3)

Additional Benefits: These bosses also drop lore spellements and pack gear, making them highly efficient farming targets.

Requirements:

  • Appropriate skeleton key for the tier
  • Team of similarly-leveled players for scaling
  • Keys can be obtained from various sources

2. Boss Rematches (Easiest Access)

Boss Rematches are craftable and accessible at any level. They drop approximately 3–4 Azoth per run along with rank-specific world spellements.

Current Boss Rematches

  • Krokopatra (Challenge & Standard) — Recommended for fastest farming
  • Jade Oni (Challenge & Standard) — Recommended for fastest farming
  • Meowiarty
  • Huac Cries Blood (Challenge & Standard)
  • Plus additional tier variants (Krokopatra Tier 3, Jade Oni Tier 3)

✅ Pros

  • No skeleton keys required
  • Repeatable as much as you want
  • Accessible at any level

❌ Cons

  • Requires significant reagent investment
  • Reagent farming can be time-consuming

3. Pet Adventure Talents (Passive Farming)

There are 9 Scout talents that send your pet to farm nearby reagents and return with Azoth TCs. This is a passive farming method that works while you play or are offline.

School-Specific Scouts

Balance, Death, Fire, Ice, Life, Myth, Storm

Lower cooldown — Returns 1 Azoth per use

Elemental & Spiritual Scouts

Elemental Scout, Spiritual Scout

Higher cooldown — Returns 2 Azoth per use

Best Strategy:

  • Train a pet with Elemental Scout or Spiritual Scout for maximum return
  • Set your pet on adventures regularly
  • Completely passive — works while you're questing or offline
  • Free Azoth with no active farming required

4. Guild Daily Rewards

Once unlocked in your guild, there are 4 Guild Sprites that each give 1 Azoth TC daily for a maximum of 4 Azoth per day.

Guild Sprites

  • Beta
  • Flip
  • Sparr
  • Theena

Requirements:

  • Must be unlocked using Azoth itself (requires guild progression)
  • Available once per character per day
  • Stations on main island, battle island, arena island, and Guild Hall island
This should be one of the last features you unlock with Azoth — other investments provide better returns.

5. Raid Bosses

Completing raids rewards 2–4 Azoth per boss defeated. Current raid bosses:

  • The Big Cat Burglar
  • Unfun Guy
  • Gobblorian Bandit
  • Nullity
  • Millispeeder

Total Potential: ~20 Azoth per player for a successful full raid

Not Recommended for farming: Requires 12 players and extensive coordination, extremely difficult, and costs Azoth just to enter — not cost-effective. Only do this if raiding for gear or badges.

6. Quest Rewards

Some quests throughout the game reward Azoth as completion rewards.

  • Raid Island quests
  • Voracious Void Raid quests
  • Complete these quests on multiple characters
  • Nice bonus while progressing through content
  • Not a primary farming method but adds up

7. Additional Boss Drops

Many other bosses throughout the Spiral also drop Azoth, though often less efficiently than key bosses and rematches.

High-Value

  • Grandfather Spider (Challenge)
  • Cipactli
  • Hunhau

Azteca High Priests

  • High Priest Ixta
  • High Priest Yetaxa
  • High Priestess Autloc
  • High Priestess Cameca

World Bosses

  • General Tung-Ak
  • General Benedict Brutus von Booth
  • Belloq (Three Points)
  • Dr. Von Katzenstein

Additional Enemies

Gobblorian Bandit, Golden Horde Colonel, Copy Qhat, Dasein Duelist, Atavus Monquistan, Basil the Brigand, Captain Winters, Don Manzana, Clemente Moraga, Iron Face, Gourmand Ramsey, Divine Cabalist

Generally less efficient than dedicated farming methods — good only if you're already fighting them for other reasons.

8. Crafting Azoth

Azoth can be crafted at special stations using recipes from Magda or Manfred.

  • Access to guild crafting stations required
  • Appropriate reagents (varies by recipe)
  • May require other Azoth or refined Azoth types

When to Use:

  • When you have excess reagents
  • To convert refined Azoth types back to regular Azoth
  • Generally not the most efficient method for initial farming

9. Crown Bundles — Not Recommended

Azoth can be obtained from raid bundles in the Crown Shop:

  • The Crying Sky Raid Bundle (820 Crowns)
  • The Voracious Void Raid Bundle (820 Crowns)
Costs real money, provides only a small amount, and free farming methods are far more cost-effective. Save your crowns for other items.

Farming Efficiency Rankings

Azoth Uses & Investment Priorities

Understanding what you need Azoth for helps prioritize your farming efforts:

Guild Upgrades

  • First Anvil (Alpha/Guild Crafter): 2,880 Azoth + 3 guild members
  • Guild Buildings: Guild Hall, Conservatory, Manor — each requires significant investment
  • Guild Islands: Battle Island, Arena Island — required for accessing raid content

Refined Azoth Types

Azoth can be refined into specialized reagents for specific crafting:

  • Spiritual Azoth — Death, Life, Myth schools
  • Elemental Azoth — Fire, Ice, Storm schools
  • Harmonic Azoth

Example Daily Rewards Unlock Cost:

  • 120 Spiritual Azoth + 120 Elemental Azoth + 120 Harmonic Azoth + 36 regular Azoth

Crafting Recipes

  • New crafting recipes at guild anvils
  • Raid keys, duel recharges, PvP gear, housing items

Combat Use

  • Azoth can be used as a treasure card in combat (Shadow school, 1 pip)
  • Generally not worth using for combat given farming time investment

Quick Farming Tips

Level Optimization

  • Make sure you're high enough level to receive Azoth drops from level-scaled bosses
  • Farm with similarly-leveled teammates for optimal scaling
  • Lower-level players may not receive drops from some bosses

Pet Training Priority

  • Work toward a pet with Elemental Scout or Spiritual Scout
  • These provide 2 Azoth per use vs 1 for school-specific scouts
  • Completely passive income — can farm Azoth even while you sleep!

Focus on Rematches

  • Krokopatra and Jade Oni provide the fastest farming strategies
  • Build a stockpile of sigils for repeated farming sessions
  • Farm reagents during double reagent events

Join a Guild

  • Access to guild daily rewards = 4 guaranteed Azoth per day
  • Guild coordination makes key boss farming easier
  • Share farming routes and strategies with guildmates

Trading Between Characters

  • Since Azoth is a treasure card, you can trade it to other characters
  • Use shared bank or trade through friends list
  • Farm on multiple characters for multiplied daily rewards
  • Consolidate Azoth on your main or wherever it's needed most

Team Up for Key Bosses

  • Join farming groups in Team Up or guild discords
  • Split key costs among team members
  • Share drops and trade duplicates

Time Your Farming

  • Farm during double rewards events if applicable
  • Set aside dedicated farming sessions (1–2 hours)
  • Don't burn out — spread farming across multiple days

Recommended Farming Schedule

Daily Routine (15–30 min)

  1. Collect Guild Daily Rewards — 4 Azoth
  2. Set Pet on Scout Adventure — 1–2 Azoth (passive)
  3. Quick Key Boss Run or Rematch — 3–4 Azoth

Daily Total: 8–10 Azoth

Weekly Intensive (2–3 hrs)

  1. Craft Boss Rematch Sigils — 10–15 runs
  2. Key Boss Farming Session — Team up with guild

  • One-time quest rewards on each character

Weekly Potential: 100+ Azoth

Time Investment vs. Returns

Method Per Run Rate

Skeleton Key Bosses 3–4 Azoth / 10–15 min run 12–16 / hour
Pet Scout Talents 1–2 Azoth per cooldown 2–4 / day (passive)
Guild Daily Rewards 4 Azoth / day 1 min per character

Realistic Farming Goals

  • Casual Player (30 min/day): 50–70 Azoth per week
  • Moderate Player (1 hour/day): 100–140 Azoth per week
  • Dedicated Player (2+ hours/day): 200–300+ Azoth per week

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • ❌ Not Training a Scout Pet Early — Start this ASAP for passive income!
  • ❌ Ignoring Guild Daily Rewards — Free 4 Azoth/day adds up fast
  • ❌ Farming Random Bosses — Stick to proven efficient methods
  • ❌ Soloing Key Bosses — Team up for faster clears
  • ❌ Wasting Azoth on Low-Priority Upgrades — Plan your spending
  • ❌ Forgetting to Trade Between Characters — Consolidate your resources
  • ❌ Burning Out on Grinding — Spread farming across days
  • ❌ Not Joining a Guild — Missing out on daily rewards and group farming

Investment Priorities

First 100 Azoth

  • Save for guild's first anvil contribution
  • OR invest in getting Pet Scout talent trained
  • Don't waste on minor items

100–500 Azoth

  • Contributing to major guild upgrades
  • Unlocking personal raid access (if raiding)
  • Crafting essential recipes

500+ Azoth

  • Work toward unlocking daily rewards
  • Invest in advanced crafting recipes
  • Help guildmates with upgrades
  • Stockpile for future content

Final Recommendations

For Solo Players

  1. Train Elemental/Spiritual Scout Pet — Priority #1
  2. Farm Boss Rematches when you have reagents
  3. Join public farming groups for key bosses
  4. Complete quest rewards on multiple characters

For Guild Members

  1. Contribute to Guild Daily Rewards ASAP
  2. Coordinate key boss farming with guildmates
  3. Share reagent farming routes for rematches
  4. Farm on multiple characters for daily rewards

For Efficiency Min-Maxers

  1. Run 3+ characters with scout pets
  2. Stockpile rematch sigils during double reagent events
  3. Organize guild farming parties for key bosses
  4. Time sessions during bonus events
  5. Track your Azoth/hour rates and optimize

Time Investment Summary

  • Daily passive income: 6–10 Azoth (guild + pet)
  • Active farming (1 hour): 12–24 Azoth
  • Weekly with multi-character: 100–150 Azoth realistic
Remember: Azoth farming is a marathon, not a sprint. Set up your passive income sources (pet scouts, guild dailies) first, then supplement with active farming when you have time.

The most successful Azoth farmers are the ones who build sustainable habits rather than burning out on intensive grinding sessions!
