Monthly Community Recap — Golden Gamers United

 

July brought holiday celebrations, server maintenance, and important community safety updates to Golden Gamers United. We also rolled out automated event calendars to keep everyone synchronized across our Wizard101 and Battling Cats communities. Here's everything that happened this month.

 

Community Celebrations

 

Independence Day (July 4th)

On July 4th, the community took a moment to celebrate Independence Day and honour members of the military and veterans. The team reminded everyone to be mindful and safe when driving, lighting fireworks, and engaging in other recreational activities.

 

Safety Alerts

 

Discord Auto-Ban Bug Warning

On July 6th, the community was alerted to a bug affecting Discord's AI moderation system. The system was misflagging images containing grid or checkerboard patterns, including spreadsheets, chessboards, tiled textures, transparent-background checkers, and level editors. Affected accounts were receiving instant permanent bans. Members were advised to be cautious when posting such images.

If you encounter this issue or are affected by this bug, report it directly to Discord support with details about what triggered the ban.

 

Game Maintenance

 

Wizard101 Server Downtime (July 12th)

On July 12th, Wizard101 servers for PC (North America) went offline for a scheduled hotfix. The downtime was expected to last less than one hour, and servers were successfully brought back online the same day.

 

Community Updates & Infrastructure

 

Automated Event Calendars Launched

Starting July 26th, Golden Gamers United rolled out automated event calendar systems for improved community coordination. These updates include:

• Monthly Wizard101 Events Calendar — Automatically posted every week, displaying all official in-game events for the month
• Weekly Guild Calendars — Each guild now has an automated weekly events calendar posted automatically, showing that guild's own scheduled events for the upcoming week
• Battling Cats Weekly Events — Weekly event calendars for Battling Cats posted regularly throughout the month, covering Jul 26 – Aug 1, Jul 28 – Aug 3, Jul 29 – Aug 4, and Jul 30 – Aug 5

Discord Channel Organization (July 27th)

On July 27th, the Discord server underwent organizational improvements to enhance clarity and prepare for future growth:

• Multiple channels were combined for a cleaner appearance
• Guild-specific channels were moved to the Wizard101 Category for better organization
• These changes prepared the server structure for adding more guild channels and activities

These infrastructure updates make it easier to track in-game events and guild activities. Check the relevant channels regularly to stay informed about what's coming up in your communities.
